About ME

I am a Part II architecture graduate, having been awarded a Distinction for my Master’s project at Oxford Brookes, where my focus was on ARCHITECTS AS STORYTELLERS and humanitarian responses after disasters. I am interested in the effect that collaborative design and participatory architecture can have on developing communities, and bringing together people who may not normally meet.

I am lucky to have been part of a number of fantastic projects that have given me an insight into the POWER OF COLLABORATION and have made me realise that architecture is most effective when all stakeholders are engaged. I have also learnt how an appreciation of local knowledge, traditional skills and craftsmanship, community engagement and a general bottom-up approach to design can allow for social and environmental sustainability.

To this end, I have also developed a passion for MAKING, specifically using timber, and I continue to hone my craft by working for others and creating my own projects. I enjoy linking site to place, and what better way to do so than by utilising local materials. I enjoy carving with green timber, both for the objects created and the peace of mind it can bring.
