Altyre boat building centre - moray
The Altyre Boat Building Centre aims to revitalise an existing Scottish farm building both architecturally and socially. A new intervention using local Scottish timber would turn the site into a traditional boat building centre. This centre would bring together both young and old, creating a space of collaboration and learning. For young people the space would be an opportunity to learn hands-on skills in a practical environment, while for older people it would provide an opportunity to share and teach their skills while alleviating the social difficulties often associated with retirement.
