Hellen's House - Nakuru
I volunteered on a project run by Orkidstudio in Nakuru, Kenya that worked with local community members to build an earthbag house for Hellen Nyambura Kamau and her family. Earthbag technology utilises on-site materials and is a very accessible form of construction, making it a useful way of engaging all parts of the community. It is also environmentally and economically sustainable, and is perfectly suited to the local climate.
