Bernolákovo - Slovakia

Bernolákovo is a small village just outside Slovakia's capital, Bratislava. Ash Sakula, in partnership with Imagine, proposed a development of 61 homes in the grounds of the baroque Kastiel Bernolákovo. The proposal is an eclectic mix of new terraces, tower houses, workspaces, and a cafe and also incorporates two existing Soviet-era industrial buildings as new apartments. The master plan aims to create a vibrant, socially sustainable neighbourhood through creative and innovative design.

I created the 3D model that forms the basis of these illustrations, as well as working on the master plan, which included setting out the individual residential units. The design incorporates contemporary interpretations of traditional Slovakian architecture, such as the dormer windows, with modern elements inspired by the site’s industrial past.
